A.J. Irwin, with nearly 30 years experience in law enforcement and business consulting, has vast experience with in working with federal and local law enforcement agencies. While working as a federal agent, he investigated a wide variety of cases, including employer sanctions, identity theft, fraud, human trafficking and immigration. He has received numerous awards from heads of foreign states, FBI, the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. While serving as Deputy Assistant Director for the Central Region of the United States, Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Irwin oversaw all Joint Terrorism Task Force investigations and operations for one-third of the United States and received commendations for his work following 9-11. In the immigration arena, Mr. Irwin served as lead case agent in United States v Pappas, Inc., resulting in the largest corporate criminal fine for immigration violations for a corporate employer in U.S. history. Mr. Irwin also served as case agent for an alien smuggling case hailed by Attorney General Janet Reno as the largest and most successful smuggling investigation in history. Mr. Irwin is known as a skillful interviewer and a dogged finder of facts. His ability to uncover deeply concealed evidence is another tool that sets YSA apart from its competitors. Mr. Irwin, who has the ability to speak multiple languages, has conducted cross-country undercover operations in countries such as Ecuador, Panama, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahamas and Spain. Leading a coordinated effort among the Joint Terrorism Task Force, INS, and U.S. Border Patrol, he managed anti-smuggling enforcement operations from the Mexican to the Canadian borders. His covert operations throughout the United States and various foreign countries have led to the successful breakup and prosecution of major criminal organizations involved in money laundering, human trafficking, narcotics, weapons trafficking and other illicit activities. In private practice, Mr. Irwin has conducted due diligence and background investigations, compliance for federal immigration investigations and various other investigations with regard to theft of corporate trade secrets and data breaches.
